Pickleball Information

The Angleton City Council has approved the old tennis courts at Bates Park in Angleton to be turned into (4) pickleball courts, and the Downing Courts will be turned into (5) tennis courts.

 When we get more information regarding the timeline on when the courts at Bates will be refurbished we will post it here.  

In the meantime, you can play at the Angleton Rec Center (979) 549-0410 or you can play pickleball at the Downing Courts.  

Once the pickleball courts are complete at Bates Park the Downing Courts will revert back to just tennis courts.

Pickleball Court Hours

The Recreation Center offers indoor Pickleball in the Right Gymnasium during the following hours:

• Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 12:00pm
  (Monday, Wednesday and Friday are open to ages 18+, Tuesday and Thursday are open to ages 15+)

• Thursday: 5:00pm - 7:00pm

Thursday evenings (5:00pm-7:00pm) and Saturday mornings (9:00am-11:00am) play are available during certain times of the year. Check with the Recreation Center for a current schedule.

Beginner Pickleball Lessons

Our Pickleball Class is a comprehensive learning experience covering everything from court safety, layout rules, basic strokes and strategic gameplay. Lessons are offered Monday and Wednesday from 12:00pm-1:00pm for a fee of $5 per person.
